Through our Sacred Legal Circles, we build relationships with, learn from, and offer legal support to land and housing projects that center spirituality, the sacred, and/or non-dominant/non-Western worldviews. Over the years, we have too often witnessed how law and lawyers can disrupt and dampen the sacred love and creativity that bind such groups together. We see the central and powerful role that care, prayer, ceremony, rituals, healing work, culture-building, and loving relationships play in many projects. Through our Sacred Legal Circles, we are learning to shape our legal support around the sacred center of such groups’ work. Click here to read more about why it is important to us to center the sacred in some parts of our work.
We have been careful not to over-promote this program, because we want to preserve our capacity to deepen existing relationships. However, if you believe your group might be a good fit to be in conversation with us, feel free to email me and inquire at Janelle [at] theselc.org.
