Frances M. Vega Carrasquillo

Supporting communities and social impact enterprises through legal advocacy for a Solidarity Economy in Puerto Rico.

Frances Marie is a community lawyer with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Juris Doctor, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. She currently works with Apoyo Legal al Emprendimiento Comunitario (ALECI), a nonprofit organization, where she assists nonprofits, social enterprises, and grassroots organizations advance community economic development and environmental justice. Additionally, Frances is an attorney at Grupo Legal Acosta & Díaz (GLAD), Puerto Rico’s only certified B Corp law firm, providing legal support and advocacy to social impact enterprises. Guided by the belief that the law should serve the people, she envisions a legal practice that empowers individuals and communities, fosters self-management, and promotes equity for all.
