Mariposa Gardening & Design is an award-winning landscaping design build company dedicated to building beautiful ecologically sound gardens. Our gardens are designed and built using Permaculture methods. We are looking for the right person to manage the installation of our gardens. We seek someone with the ability to manage a small crew, who can communicate with several entities regarding a job site, and stay organized. Someone with a background in Permaculture is a plus.
DESCRIPTION
The Crew Leader (CL) is responsible for the daily oversight of each job site. . The CL acts as a liaison between the Client and the Crew. The Crew is responsible for the daily tasks related to building gardens such as demo, laying irrigation lines, moving materials, and support. The CL also communicates with the Designer to make sure that the installation is going according to the design. The CL oversees the install Crew, oversees the installation of new garden designs, and makes sure that each garden installation site is progressing well.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Crew
Keep Crew on task
Keep up morale
Keep work moving forward in a timely manner
Be aware of budget and expenditures on each job
Maximize efficiency on each job site through organization, motivation, and creating a healthy and safe workspace
Collection and proper organization of all paperwork (Time cards, reciepts, permits, etc) associated with each project
Organize and maintain tools:
The CL must keep track of all MG&D tools by knowing which jobsite has which tools
Maintain tools at the end of each installation: cleaning, oiling, repairing, and replacing
Tool up for each jobsite, keep the tools orderly both on the jobsite and when they are in storage at the yard.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of how to install drip irrigation, including valve set up, wiring controllers, and running ¼" drip line
Crew management and oversight
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and employees
Ability to communicate effectively with clients
Experience with grading, garden building and construction, fence building and deck building
Experience with working in a mulit-cultural and diverse working environment
Ability to get along well with others
Ability to lead others
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Current CA Driver's License
Smart phone
Truck or vehicle that you can use to move tools and plants on a daily basis
