CLE Nurturance Lawyering Pt. 3: The legal profession is a white supremacist institution

What if we learned that the legal profession was created to support early systems of theft and oppression? What if we discovered that the profession today remains an integral part of white supremacy, creating and rigging rules to facilitate white accumulation of wealth and power through the theft, dehumanization, and exploitation of black/brown bodies and labor? In this workshop and discussion, we’ll look at some hard facts and history of the profession, seek an understanding of oppressive dynamics, and explore ideas for transforming the legal profession.

Here is the presentation slide deck.
