Call to Action!
We've reached a milestone moment for Berkeley worker cooperatives. At the February 19th City Council meeting, Berkeley will take a major step toward supporting local worker cooperative development.
On the agenda is the economic development department's detailed plan for cultivating a strong local cooperative business sector. The plan includes making the Small Business Revolving Loan Fund more accessible to worker cooperative businesses, providing biz dev support to worker coops, and helping retiring business owners to sell their enterprise to workers. >>> RSVP BELOW!
Now we need YOU, the worker cooperative community, to help demonstrate a strong showing of public support for worker coops so that the plan includes clear commitments to bold action.
To find out how you can support this effort, join us the week before the City Council hearing for an organizing meeting on Wednesday, February 13, 5:30-6:30pm at the Sustainable Economies Law Center (1428 Franklin Street, Oakland). You can join in person OR online--we will be sharing the video call details in an email to those who RSVP, so please make sure to register below!
