Call to Action!
After three years of organizing and negotiations, we are thrilled to announce that the City of Berkeley is now slated to commit to a bold agenda to support the development and success of local worker cooperative businesses. This plan will commit the City of Berkeley to many key worker cooperative development programs, including being the first city in the nation to create a Worker Cooperative Revolving Loan Fund.
Now we need YOU, the worker cooperative community, to help demonstrate a strong showing of public support for worker coops and ensure that the plan adopted is a broad and bold one.
To find out how you can support this effort, join us the week before the City Council hearing for an organizing meeting on Wednesday, February 13, 5:30-6:30pm at the Sustainable Economies Law Center (1428 Franklin Street, Oakland). You can join in person OR online--we will be sharing the video call details in an email to those who RSVP, so please make sure to register below!
We hope to see you there!
