At LIFT Economy, a small worker-owned cooperative, we recently set up a workplace 401(k) plan that gives each worker control over how their savings is invested. In this webinar, we'll share the process of how we set it up, how much it cost, and how we are managing it. While the particularities of our approach will not work for all workplaces, you'll get a window into what is generally involved in creating worker-controlled 401(k). In addition, we'll briefly highlight other approaches to creating worker-controlled retirement plans, including SIMPLE IRAs. Lastly, we'd love to hear from and brainstorm with webinar attendees to find out what your hopes and needs are for a workplace plan and how we might collectively bargain for lower-cost plans.
