Community Over Chaos:
Building Collective Strength and Self-Governance

We envision a world where every person belongs in, supports, and is supported and protected by their beloved community, where cooperation and collective liberation are embedded in the social fabric of our daily lives; where empowered community life creates the bulwark against the hate, division and extraction efforts of billionaire-captured governments hostile to their people.

We honor the local leaders everywhere working to displace hierarchical control. We dream of a future where sustainable local communities collectively control and govern our vital sources of food, housing, energy, land and labor to nourish all life.

As part of our grassroots fundraising campaign, starting on August 1st, the Law Center is hosting a month of events for movement lawyers, labor organizers, social justice organizations, law students, legal apprentices, solidarity economy practitioners and activists who are interested in learning about ways we can resist the current chaos and build strong, self-governing communities that protect and support themselves and each other.

Help us  raise $30,000 this month  to support this important work. 10% of your support  will go directly to our Solidarity Partner, Let Us Contribute Initiative.  They are a powerful example of community organizing to overcome the chaotic world around them. 

All month, we’re inviting our friends, neighbors, community members, and partners to support our grassroots fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $30,000  by the end of August to support our work building collective strength and self-governance for our communities. All month long we’ll be sharing stories, resources, and new ideas from our team!
