The Next Egg was created in 2019 as a community of practice so that everyday people could connect around leveraging their retirement savings to build thriving communities. Together, we navigate legal barriers, co-create educational resources, and use collective bargaining power for affordable financial products such as solo 401ks and self-directed IRAs to localize tax-deferred savings. 

This nascent project is sustained by gifts from people who believe we all deserve the power to make meaningful financial and retirement planning decisions that don't rely on mainstream options that aren't representative of the values and dreams we hold for their communities. By divesting from Wall Street, our members exercise economic democracy and direct money to projects and communities that are overlooked or even dispossessed by the traditional financial market and its powerbrokers.
