WHEN: Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 6pm - 9pm
WHERE: Berkeley School District Board Room (231 Addison St, Berkeley)
WHAT: At this City Council meeting, Berkeley is slated to commit to a comprehensive agenda to support the development and success of local worker cooperative businesses. This plan will make Berkeley the first city in the nation to commit to the creation of a Worker Cooperative Revolving Loan Fund and to preferentially procure goods and services from worker coops, among other key programs. We need YOU to help demonstrate strong public support for worker coops to ensure that the plan adopted is a broad and bold one.
HOW TO SUPPORT:
1.) RSVP below to receive only important details and announcements about the event. To show that you're attending in solidarity, please wear the color green!
2.) This milestone moment is the result of three years of organizing and negotiations led by the Sustainable Economies Law Center, Worker Coop Policy Brigade, Project Equity, and other worker cooperative businesses, organizations, and advocates. Many thanks as well to the leadership and foresight of Mayor Jesse Arreguin and the City of Berkeley staff who have partnered with us in this effort.
