Forming a Business? Why You Should Consider a Cooperative!
Are you a legal professional, student, entrepreneur, or thinking about starting a small business? We warmly invite you to our Cooperative Law Teach-In and Legal Cafe, a two part event. You can come to both or either!
1. From 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM: Teach-In
Join us for a basic overview of different entity structures to consider when starting a small business and how to form one. We will specifically highlight the cooperative model and its benefits compared to traditional entity structures. EBCLC law interns, Cathy Joo (USC '19) and Jyoti Gill (Berkeley '20) will present and facilitate a Q&A session under the supervision of EBCLC Attorney Jassmin Poyaoan.
2. From 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM: One-on-one Legal Consultations
The Resilient Communities Legal Cafe is a first-come, first-serve, donation-based legal advice clinic, providing a collaborative space for community building and connecting offered by the Sustainable Economies Law Center.
We provide direct legal support to individuals and groups who are working to create new solutions for resilient local economies.
Everyone is welcome to attend this cafe.
