Oakland City Worker Coop Resolution

Ain't no city like Oakland City cause Oakland city don't stop! Support worker cooperatives by joining us at Oakland City Council September 8th for the passage of a city resolution promoting worker coops!Join SELC, the Network of Bay Area Worker Cooperatives, the Democracy at Work Institute, Arizmendi Association of Cooperatives, and more as we celebrate the passage of Oakland City Council's "Resolution Supporting the Development of Worker Cooperatives in Oakland!"

This is the first step in showing Oakland's City Council that our communities demand economic development that empowers and creates resilient communities!

SELC has been creating a city ordinance for the promotion of worker cooperatives. Oakland's council won't fund policies prioritizing cooperative development unless they see community support. Help the Bay Area build on the momentum that is sweeping the country as New York, NY, Austin, TX, Minneapolis, MN, Rochester, NY and other city governments prioritize the development of inclusive, humane, and cooperative economies.

We done it before. We do it again! Pushing policies that promote worker cooperatives!

RSVP below!

Please note, if the resolution passes, we'll be convening after for a short celebratory photo on the City Hall steps and drinks near Frank H. Ogawa Plaza!
