 ecovillage.jpeg

Co-hosted with East Bay Cohousing, and part of SELC's Rethinking Home Teach-in Series

Ever wanted to start an ecovillage? Already in the planning stages of creating one? Understanding the variety of legal options available for merging your ecovillage dreams with the IRS tax codes is an essential part of this process. In this interactive workshop, Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage co-founder Tony Sirna will discuss legal options such as:

  • For-profits,
  • Limited Liability Corporations (LLC),
  • 501c3 non-profits,
  • 501d,
  • Home Owners' Associations, and more.

Participants will come away understanding the implications for governance, mainstream financing, fundraising, and taxes for each option, and how to determine what will work best for your group. Options will be described in simple terms - law degree not required
