How to Start a Food Hub

I want a Food HUB!With the increasing demand for local, sustainable food, the need for alternatives to direct farm-to-consumer and conventional wholesale channels is growing.  Regional food hubs can fill this need by serving as local values-based supply chains that link small farmers with larger buyers, while maintaining social, environmental, and community values. SELC Legal Fellow Jenny Loda will discuss:

  • Different forms food hubs can take, including cooperative models
  • Sources of funding and support for food hubs
  • Specialized state and federal regulations that may apply to food hubs
