    Forming an LLC in an Anti-Immigrant Climate

    Join Sustainable Economies Law Center and East Bay Community Law Center for a legal cafe discussion on why and how undocumented people can benefit from forming LLCs.  

    Prerna Lal (EBCLC-Immigration) will be leading the discussion around the current political context and the need for undocumented immigrants to form LLCs. Jassmin Poyaon (EBCLC-Community Economic Justice) will share general considerations and steps in forming and maintaining an LLC.

    The last hour will be dedicated to individual consultations with immigration and transactional attorneys.

    SELC is immensely grateful to Impact HUB Oakland for hosting the Resilient Communities Legal Cafe. Impact Hub Oakland is equal parts inspiring shared working space, entrepreneurial incubator, and a membership-based community of socially engaged people, co-working and co-learning. Impact HUB Oakland cultivates, supports, and connects purpose-driven people as they pioneer solutions for a sustainable and equitable world.

    Operation HOPEThe Sustainable Economies Law Center provides direct legal support to individuals and groups who are working to create new solutions for resilient local economies.  The Resilient Communities Legal Cafe is a first-come, first-serve, donation-based legal advice clinic, providing a collaborative space for community building and connecting.

    This Cafe will be co-sponsored and held at Operation HOPE Oakland, a nonprofit that provides complimentary financial literacy education and empowerment programs and services to youth and adults in the Oakland area.
