The BayArea has a burgeoning fashion and garment industry, offering an opportunity for economic transformation -- to incubate micro-enterprise, build worker cooperatives, reduce the carbon footprint of our clothes, and infuse economic justice throughout the production chain - from fiber to finished product.  Legal professionals, law students, and anyone interested in growing legal support for small-scale fashion enterprise -- Please join us for a discussion co-facilitated by SELC volunteer Myrrhia Resneck, an award-winning designer, successful fashion entrepreneur, and practicing business lawyer! The discussion will include:

• An overview of the range of legal issues that come up for entrepreneurs in fashion and garment industries - labor laws, contracts, intellectual property, and more! 
• A discussion of how the industry can transform and build itself around cooperative, social enterprise, and community-supported enterprise models. 
• An inventory of current legal resources for the local fashion industry
• A discussion of ways to bring necessary and affordable legal support to clothing entrepreneurs, and ways to craft law practices to support this.
